  • Great first impression. The lobby is well decorated and has a great ambience. The staff are friendly and helpful. However, when I got to my room, it didn't meet my expectations. The hallway leading to our room had a musty smell. Under glass next to the TV is an honor bar with candy and wine and trinkets. All at inflated prices. The owner might see this as additional revenue, I think it makes the room look tacky. There was a large open space in the room where additional seating or a desk would have filled out the room. The updated rooms need to be updated again as much of the furniture in my room was rough around the edges. The sink area of the bathroom looks nice. The shower looks like what you expect at a Motel 6, not a luxury resort. Typically, wi-fi and valet are included in a resort fee. I wasn't sure what was included in the resort fee as wi-fi was $12.99/day and hard wired internet was also $12.99/day. This is not luxury. I don't like to be nickeled and dimed when I'm going to what I think is a luxury resort. You can charge more for luxury, but you can't nickel and dime above and beyond with out delivering at a very high quality. Management would be well served to understand what kind of property they have and operate it accordingly. They're trying to be something they're not. They could be really good at being a boutique hotel/conference center.This property is older, has some nice central areas, but not what I had in mind to celebrate my wedding anniversary. If you have similar expectations, book elsewhere. We were disappointed enough when we got to our room that we asked to check out. The front desk was nice enough to allow us to cancel the day of without penalty. Not a horrible property, but there's room for improvement. This was simply a case of expectations not being met.
