| - The tiredest, most poorly maintained Hilton property I have ever stayed in. You should know I am a status Hilton Honors member, so I have stayed at plenty of them.
Where to start? OK, let's start with the larger of their pools being closed for repairs but no mention on their website NOR on the site where I chose a room, thinking I was going to be near the pool. WRONG. I really felt lied to and cheated. Also, there was lots of heavy renovation going on in the hotel, including the hall above us, which resulted in very loud banging and drilling noises above us. No mention on website, no apology letter in the room, and no offer to move us if we felt inconvenienced by the noise, lack of pool nearby, or dust.
THEN, the ice machine near our room was out of ice for three out of four days of our weekend getaway. BTW, did you notice this was the Phoenix area with 96 degree temperatures AND NO ICE?
There were also many other niggling things wrong but all adding up to an uncaring attitude by the chain or management company: Our bed was overly soft with no support around the edges, it was crying for replacement; the drain in the bathroom was rusted and the aerator corroded; the carpet was worn and in need of replacing; the glass shower doors would not stay in a closed position unless I used them the wrong way; the bathroom tile was missing pieces; the bathroom vanity was scarred and gouged; the temperature was consistently above or below setting; the toilet was stained and flushed sluggishly; the two lounge chairs were covered with the cheapest of vinyl, allowing us to leave patches of skin every time we got up.
But I save the best for last. The nicely sized LG flat screen only received a handful of hi def channels, this property being too cheap to pay for a full compliment of hi fi channels. This was particularly disappointing for a Cubs fan who could not watch the playoff games because they did not subscribe to Fox Sports 1 in any definition...
And, oh yes, the wifi was spotty at best, dropping out frequently and never managing over one bar in reception on any of our three wifi devices. Even though included in the room rate, it was a rip.
In short, despite the name, this is a dump and should be avoided at all costs. With so many other properties in the area, pick ANYTHING else.
