When I first visited this restaurant, I realized that I'd been there before, years back. Back then, it was an Italian place, and my husband had taken me there for one of our first dates. It's sad to see a restaurant my husband grew up attending vanish, but I am glad that the building is still here and that such a nice restaurant moved in. The inside has been refurbished to look very elegant and comfortable. Also, the soy sauce containers have adorable cats on them. Obviously a sign of a quality restaurant.
We visited during happy hour and ordered a couple rolls from the happy hour menu. A little more variety on the happy hour menu would be nice, but the rolls were tasty. The spicy salmon was a little spicier than I prefer spicy salmon to be. I didn't try the non-sushi options, which make up a large part of their menu, but I might try them sometime if I am in the area again.
