| - With a name like Katie, I have a pretty good claim to Irish roots. Throw in a visit to Ireland, and I can claim some authority for distinguishing an Irish Pub. Dark wooden tables, Guinness on tap and servers in "kilts" (short, patterned skirts) do not an Irish bar make. You'll find plenty of these staples in Jameson's, but not a whole lotta Irishness.
Jameson's is more like a classy sports bar. They have specials during many of the games, and flatscreen TVs strewn around the bar showing whatever sport has a big game on. The music is loud and contemporary, but you're still able to hold a decent conversation. And they have some really, really comfy chairs close to the fireplace. The space is wide and open, and often busy. For some reason, my one word descriptor for the place is "cosy".
They also feature some pretty good drink and food specials. The hot wings will kill your tastebuds and most of the food is traditional Irish-style grub and pretty decent.
Basically, Jameson's is as good a place as any for a quiet night out at the pub with friends. It's not really very Irish, but it's fun.
