| - This is twice now that I've had a poor experience with this store. I would avoid it at ALL costs as there are other Guitar Centers in the Phoenix area. Here's a breakdown of the two incidents:
Incident #1:
Attempted to buy vocalist throat spray, which was listed on their website as a product they offered. Called down to the store, was assured that they carried the type that I requested and drove the 65 miles to this store. Upon arrival they DID NOT have the type that I had wanted and subsequently, I had to "settle" for a different off-brand.
Incident #2:
Attempted to buy TC Helicon VoiceTone Single D1 Doubling & Detune Regular, which also was listed on their website as a product they offered. Called to the store, was told that they did indeed carry this pedal and I drove 65 miles to the store. When I came to the store and asked an employee if they carried the above mentioned product, he looked at me with a dumbfounded look on his face and said, "huh?" I explained to him that this was a vocalist pedal, used to add effects to live shows. He required assistance from another employee and returned ~10 minutes later... with the wrong model. This model was not only the wrong size, the wrong color, the wrong product altogether, but was also $200+ more expensive. I explained to said employee that this was the wrong item, while another GC employee looked on in mild amusement.
**note, this other employee appeared to be a supervisor and walked away ~5 min later without assisting the employee**
This GC employee had issues pulling up my membership information and INSISTED on creating a new account. After giving him all of the information again, he conceeded that I was already in the system. Asked to have the item shipped ASAP to the GC store. He stated that it would be there by Tuesday (this was Sunday). Returned to GC on Tuesday night, item had not arrived (surprise, surprise). Called customer service, they said it probably wouldn't arrive for another 3 days at best.
To sum up, this business is RIDDLED with highschool employees who are not well versed in any aspect of music or instruments, they are sluggish and slow to assist and do not go out of their way to ensure the customers are happy. This is not characteristic of other GC stores I have been to and luckily, their customer service more than makes up for the errors and frustration this store causes their customers. Shame on GC for allowing this to continue.
