  • No one can argue that this course is not stunning with its palm trees, plush green fairways and water features...but I just didn't think it was worth the money. We played on a 100 degree Friday afternoon behind a corporate outing and the round was just miserable. The rangers did not help the groups in front of us keep pace which resulted in a 5 and 1/2 hour round. Unacceptable for $200 each (cart included) plus the $100 caddie fee on top of which a tip of your discretion is still expected. We were paired with players who were better than us and who were equally irritated by the place of play. The greens ran pretty true and the fairways were in great shape...the island green is picturesque. But between the grueling pace of play, failure of the rangers to move the groups along, the myriad of excuses as to why it was so slow, and the airplane traffic overhead literally at least once or twice on each hole, the experience was very disappointing. When we asked the manager to make some accommodation for us due to the pace of play, he offered one free round in the future which would require us to come back (we were there on vacation and had no plans to play that course again) and pay for the second person! That is not what I call good customer service. Clearly, they have a real niche here being one of the few courses just minutes from the strip and probably don't depend on a lot of repeat business. Of note, there is no driving range. You warm up by hitting balls into the net. The high point of the round was the lunch at the restaurant which is one of the better meals I have had at a golf course both private and public. If you want convenience, this may suit you. But in my opinion, if you're willing to spend the money, go to Cascata or drive out and challenge yourself at the Wolf Course at Paiute.
