| - The zoo is surprisingly easy to get to by transit. Buses will go straight to the entrance of the zoo, so save yourself some walking (if the zoo is busy, the walk to the entrance can be significant), $10 and help the environment by taking the TTC.
I must admit, it had been a while since those school trips to the zoo, so I was pretty excited to have a huge bout of nostalgia and maybe see some cute animals. The place was pack on a lovely afternoon, but the zoo is spacious and I never felt overwhelmed by the crowd. We specifically went to see the two Pandas, Er Shun and Da Mao. There was a nicely laid out educational path leading to the view area. The facts were concise and even had some interactive sections too! The pandas, as rumoured, were not very lively, but were fun to see anyway.
I like how the zoo is divided into sections by continent or region. There is a great flow of how to walk around the zoo, and it definitely takes a whole day to see it all. Other highlights besides the pandas, were the penguin, giraffes, wolves and gorillas. All in all, it was worth the price of admission, however I can't say I will be back to pay again in the near future. The food and drink are slightly overpriced, as you would expect. I would suggest bringing your own rations because there's not much around the zoo to nip to quickly.
