The Distrikt Pittsburgh is adjacent to a chef-owned restaurant (Or, The Whale) which as of this writing is independent from the hotel; we understand that they are on the verge of becoming commingled entities.
We found everyone soul on the staff with whom we interacted to be gracious and truly interested in making our stay lovely. The hotel was clean and neat.
The location is excellent for anything downtown.
The rooms are standard fare: our double queen (we visited with our school-age kids) was comfortable, though not remarkable. There was no mini-bar in the room. That granted, there is a wine & spirits store two blocks from the hotel.
Two of the windows in the room had black-out curtains, two didn't; net win for the sun.
Our room was significantly under-lit. Two small bedside lamps and another small lamp on the table under the wall-mounted flat-screen tv. There just wasn't enough light.
We're locals: the hotel is less than three miles from our house. The staff at the desk, the mezzanine bar (Evangeline) and the restaurant made our stay.
