This unassuming little bar located in the Junction won my heart. Is it splashy and super fancy - no. But it's awesome in that funky and amazing way.
It kinda looks like the cool parents of the 70s basement - in the best way possible - funky wall art; cool sofas/chairs and a picnic table style seating or 2.
Maybe because it was Family day (Monday) when we went but it wasn't packed (it picked up a bit later in the evening) but that's totally fine with me because they have FREE SNACKS. Not free snacks....but FREE SNACKS. And not shitty FREE SNACKS. Amazing FREE SNACKS
The front of the bar has a long board of all kinds of stuff (this apparently changes every once in awhile - they've had different kinds of sandwiches; they've had a Bollywood theme, etc). What they had when we were there was:
- cheeses
- several types of different crackers - the beet crackers were really yummy
- what looks like a homemade style hummus as there were chunks of chickpeas in it
- veggies - pickles; green beans; roasted peppers, etc
- a pate/mousse like item
- nuts (almonds)
- some kind of nut/trail mix thing
- garlic stuffed olives
I'm sure I'm forgetting some things. I believe I heard the server say the snacks are free on weeknights - some of the other reviewers seem to indicate Monday only so I'm not sure if it's just one day a week they are free. But either way check this place out.
It's fun, it's funky, the drinks are good and not too expensive, the service is lovely.
Shamone down, the price is right here! The fun times are right here!
Definitely will be back!
