| - My review will echo what lots of other users have reported.
I had to come to a meeting here, so I was stuck here since there aren't really any other options reasonably nearby. It's expensive at $229/night + resort fee, so I expected a "4-star" experience on par with other Hilton hotels, upper tier SPG resorts, Hyatt Regency, etc.
The grounds are well kept, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. I did not play golf or swim, so I'm unable to review those.
The conference center is okay, but it's in a Verizon dead zone (presumably because of the hills and remote location), so it's not ideal for hosting hundreds of people who actually need to stay in contact with the outside world.
Finally, the rooms. Oh man. The average Hilton Garden Inn is more modern and comfortable than this place was. Seriously. The fit and finishes in the rooms, including 7 foot ceilings, made me think this is a motel retrofitted with slightly nicer bathroom trim. It's fine, but it's not reasonable for $229/night ($270/night all taxes and fees included). Other quibbles: the shower water pressure is pathetic, and my original mattress was hostel-quality (you could feel and hear a creaky spring in it). To the hotel's credit, they texted me to see how I liked the room (never had that happen before), and on hearing about the mattress, they replaced it quickly. But they couldn't accomplish anything for the shower.
I'm much fussier than the average hotel client, but as a guy who has spent about 400 nights in hotels the last few years for work, I can say this place needs to seriously upgrade the rooms to be on par with other "4 star" hotels. Go elsewhere.
