  • Verdun is one neighbourhood that I don't know very well at all so I always welcome the opportunity to come explore it. Despite not being a tea drinker in the least I found myself at Maison de Thé Cha Noir because it was where the latest edition of the Yelp Book Club was being held. This is a very inviting and intimate shop located right on Wellington Street. Their tea selection is fantastic and the waiters know the menu quite well so they can make some recommendations if you find yourself unsure about what to order. I ultimately decided with a Petits Fruits tisane, which consisted of berries and rose and hibiscus. I quite enjoyed it and I also liked the fact that no two customers got the same tea pot for their drinks. If you are in need of food they also have a fairly sizable food menu. Having had dinner before I got there I only got a slice of cheesecake. It was quite creamy but it had clearly been removed from the freezer recently because the inside was pretty cold and that kind of took away from the flavour a bit. Maison de Thé Cha Noir is an excellent neighbourhood spot where you can come and pass some time either by yourself or with a group. It is definitely worth the visit if you find yourself in the Verdun area!
