Ok so I heard about this place, saw the high score with a lot of reviews and I was super excited to visit. Arrived on a Saturday afternoon and they were really busy. Place my order at the bar. Service was good for takeout. Although I wasn't staying, the atmosphere seemed cool. I ordered the ribs (sauced) with mac and cheese and baked beans. Oh yeah, I also got an extra side of creamed corn. On my first visit to places, I like to get several options. My hope is that at least one is a winner that gives me that gotta go back feeling. Well this one was a bust. The creamed corn was awful. It seemed to be fresh whole kernel corn with some sort of cream base added to it. I'm a southern girl. Fresh corn cut off the cob there is a natural milk that can be scraped off the cob to get a cream base if you are somewhat of a cook. Lol. The Mac and cheese was baked but it was just a step above that kiddy cheesy Mac that are in the commercials. The only reason I know it was baked it because it had that brown baked cheese topped crust which can be sooo good. This one had a charred tasted. The baked beans were the best of the sides but just ok. I could taste a tomato base. I'm just not a fan of tomato based baked beans. And finally the ribs. They are definitely smoked and seem to be slow cooked since they had no problem coming off the bone. Not the best ribs that I've tasted but I did enjoy them. All in all it didn't leave me with the feeling that I had to get back there and get back there soon. 2.5 stars would have been better but not so good that I was willing to round up to 3, so I'm leaving it at 2 stars.
