This is my second experience at a cat cafe. My first being Crumbs and Whiskers in Washington DC. I think that if I had visited Le Cafe des Chats first my review would be higher, but with the comparison, I thought my visit was only okay.
According to the site, the cafe is home to 9 cats. All cats were chosen based on their personalities so they are all cool with the constant petting that comes with the cat cafe environment. During our visit we saw 5 cats out in the open. Because of the time of day, and because cats are cats, all kitties were pretty lethargic. The best one was Snow, who we found hiding out by the bathroom. Snow was the friendliest of them all and loved being scratched.
While it was a weekend, and there were about 8-10 other guests enjoying the cafe, the service was particularly slow. We were told someone would come take our order but we found ourselves sitting for 10 minutes and had to flag someone down. Each person in my group ordered a different type of coffee and I had the iced tea which was yummy. I was disappointed that none of their coffees had the little cat design that is in some of the Yelp reviews. Maybe they don't do that anymore.
If you are a cat-lover and haven't been to a cat cafe before I think you'll enjoy this one. If you've been to one of the larger cat cafes that have 15+ cats, like Crumbs & Whiskers, you might feel a little neglected by the kitties.
