| - This place was OK for the money. Took a party of four here to dinner, and we all had steaks of some sort. Everybody at the table, including myself, was quite satisfied with the meal, with everyone's steak done the way they ordered. By the time you add drinks and other al a carte items to your meal, Texaz definitely isn't cheap, but for what you get you could do a lot worse at many places around Phoenix. For sure this place is far better than any of the chain steakhouses like Longhorn, Outback or Black Angus, which should always be avoided when other options are available.Texaz is a neighborhood institution, which means it's worn and dirty, but I'm sure many people consider that to be part of this restaurant's charm. One caveat, especially for women with purses: the barriers between the booths in the front section don't go all the way down to the cushions, so it's possible and easy for adjacent diners to reach into your booth and take items out of your purse or coat without you noticing.
