  • If I could provide a lower rating I would. My 4 year old son was handled by a Home Depot employee, against my explicit consent. I was shopping in Home Depot on Arroyo Crossing on May 25th 2018 around the hours of 4-5 pm with my son and husband. At the time my husband and I decided to split up to get our items. At which point my son and I were walking down an aisle which happen to have a large employee ladder. The ladder did not have the safety chain that prevent climbing. My son, who is 4 years old, climbed the ladder as most 4 yr olds would do. As I turned and walked towards him, I stated, "Please get down." Soon after an employee comes from the side and yells "Get off!" towards him and startles him. At that point I informed the employee, "I got it" and continued towards my son. The employee ignored me completely and bolted towards my son and snatched him off the ladder without a word to either him or I. She did so against my express consent and consultation. She didn't ask me or my son for permission. She then left without saying a word or acknowledging my presence. I then decided to call the store manager to the service counter. The store manager happened to be the same individual who man handled my son Josie Camarillo MOD . The store manager did not apologize for not asking for consent after I informed her that I would be placing a complaint with her district manager nor did she even offer any explanation for her worrisome behavior. She also did not willingly provide me with the Home Depot complaints phone number or a way to contact her DM. She only responded to ask me, "was I a shopping here". I have shopped at this location many times prior to this incident with my son and never received that type of violation to my family's personal space anywhere. I have since placed a complaint with the corporate office and BBB. Needless to state, that I am absolutely appalled at her behavior and would like to feel safe when shopping at a hardware store that is approximately 5-10 mins away from my home. I need to hear what steps will be taken to correct this behavior and how I can now feel safe spending my money at the Home Depot. What she did was assault what does home depot do in these situations?
