rev:text	I just recently tried Siam Orchid for lunch...I had been craving Thai and was going to go to Yupha's, but wanted to support a local business. I went there for lunch during the week and there just a couple of other people in there. The service was speedy. They were super nice and I really, really, really wanted to love it and I was so excited to try this place! I had read reviews prior to going. I ordered a beef dish with mint (cilantro), onions and lime. Within a couple of minutes it arrived. The portion was teeny compared to the triple portion of rice that arrived with it (read: 3/4 plate rice, 1/4 of place beef on bed of lettuce). I thought that was strange as most asian restaurants only serve about a cup of rice with their meals and if you want more, you need to ask for it. Well, the beef was cold. Not quite lukewarm. It was tough and leathery and almost difficult to chew. The spices were Eh. The overall flavor was fine, but nothing exciting. I didn't even feel that it was freshly cooked, maybe just warmed up. I really wanted to like them and so asked for a green curry to go so that I could try it at home (and so that they could redeem themselves). They left the kitchen door open and so my suspicions were confirmed as I watched from my seat as my curry was warmed in the microwave. I am UBER disappointed. Just tried the curry and it is also Eh. The chicken is not moist and flavorful and is almost a bit tough - prob from the microwave. I say, give it a try if you must or to support your local business, but there are better Thai restaurants out there. Sorry!
