  • I have used Hi-Star for several vehicles with generally good work in the past. I recently took an 86 300zx to them for some work, remove the pin stripes, remove the tint, repaint the bumpers, and paint the spoiler, refinish the wheels, then color sand and buff the entire car. When I went to pick up the car half of the work wasn't completed, they'd damaged the left fender paint and repainted it to hide their mistake, now I have a mismatched fender, they damaged the wheels in their attempt to refinish them and painted them the same color as the car (they're supposed to be brushed aluminum with a clear coat). When I questioned the quality of the work the owner offered $20 off the bill. I told them this was unacceptable and he threw me out of his shop and demanded I pay the full $1200 tab. This is a company I had used and trusted and did quality work. But they fucked up my 30yo classic Nissan 300zx with half assed repairs and clumsy paintwork.
