  • Had a lovely evening at Mabou with a group of friends. Our waiter was so attentive and sweet (we kinda fell in love with him, although we decided he may not be legal. or if so-he wasnt for long). We started with a cocktail and then dove into the wine. Happily-the wine seemed reasonably priced. The space is lovely. dark and cute. We ordered a variety of items from the menu. The charcuterie plate was a little small. We had two for our table of 7 but small triangles of cheese. Yummy nonetheless but small. We ordered a shaved ham share plate which was tasty but a bit strange. We ordered a few other plates: salads to share, meatballs and a few of the mac and cheese. Interesting menu. All was very yummy. Small but tasty. Mabou I though was going to have a bit of an East Coast flair or feeling but it didnt. It was more like a YYC Wine bar but I read that the name was derived from where the rivers meet... so a meeting place. I'll go back as it was early on in its opening but it wasnt memorable enough that I wouldn't need to be reminded. I did enjoy the flock of Maritimers at every table-clearly there for the same nostalgia check in with the name Mabou. Check it out. Its a small business and that is never a bad time.
