I did NOT purchase a vehicle from Chapman. I went in to find a decent daily driver and after looking at a couple of SUV's I decided I was not in love with the selection. I took a walk around the lot with Chuck who patiently went through each car I asked about and found a little 2010 Yaris which I took for a spin with a newby, then put 1500 down on it and went back to my bank to fill out the rest of the paperwork for my financing. Unfortunately my offer had expired and I had some other things going on in the interim that prevented them from approving me a second time. I had to go back to the dealership and ask for my down payment back. Everyone told me that the dealership would play games with me and drag out the refund process and yadda yadda yadda! I was already crest-fallen about not getting my new ride after 4 hours of negotiating terms etc, but now I have to deal with stingy dealerships too? ARG!
This is why you should not listen to negative people:
I walked in and spoke to my original salesperson Nathan, explained the situation, then braced myself for what I thought would be the inevitable "Well, you made an agreement," or "It'll take three months to process you're request." crap that I tend to hear in these awkward situations. This is what actually happened:
He said he was sorry to lose me and if there was anything he could do for me once things settle down he would be glad to help me. He told me to go down to the Chapman around the corner (the new car lot) and walk up to reception where my check was waiting for me.
WTF?!?!
No games, no pressure just great service. I will most definitely visit Nathan and Chuck again when I'm ready to finance a car.
