  • It's been a while since I've stayed at a Kimpton hotel, and I'm happy to report that my latest experience at the Monaco reminded me why I so often love patronizing this hotel group! This one in particular felt very special, thanks to the thoughtful and whimsical decor pieces throughout both the communal spaces and my room. The space is bright and colorful with lots of fun touches, from the old school Connect 4 in the lounge area to the birdcage decor in the bedroom and bright yellow houndstooth wallpaper in the bathroom. The service is professional and friendly, and though I didn't get (or need) any special bells and whistles, I did enjoy the free breakfast coupons each morning in the restaurant downstairs, which was a generous helping of a pastry, coffee or tea, and fruit. All in all a really fun and comfy place to rest and rejuvenate during my visit in Pittsburgh. Thanks Monaco!
