My wife and I had an offer accepted on a home in Mid February and was referred to use WIN by our realtor and did so. Paid almost $500 and the inspector missed an electric stove not wired properly. was 110, needed to be 220-240. This resulted in having to wait for a third party repair man come out to tell me that it wasn't my BRAND NEW electric stove, it was improper power levels. claimed to have run the dishwasher to test as well as all faucets for hot water and drainage. Missed a sewer drain that according to a National plumbing chain, roots had over run almost 6 feet of it and there was no way the drain would have functioned properly Resulting in us having to replace the entire drain from house to street. As a first time home buyer, this process was a bit overwhelming and given that there was nothing mentioned regarding the drain, I didn't think to dig further until I actually had to get my pick and shovel and start DIGGING. Needless to say, I have eaten the cost for replacing the sewer line as well as the electrical in the kitchen. Not sure if there is anything can do after the fact, I figured if I could educate a first time home buyer, I did my part. GET AN ELECTRICIAN AND PLUMBER TO COME LOOK ALSO. Spending the extra money up front can save THOUSANDS on the back. At this point, I wouldn't recommend WIN but am an understanding man and if they want to reach out to gather more info and possibly rectify any bad taste remaining.
