| - Originally visited once two summers ago and returned for the first time the other night since my previous visit. I can't remember the first visit very much, but I do remember leaving satisfied and enjoying our meal.
This time, I was a little disappointed in the quality of the service and food. Our table ordered oysters, bread, the shrimp and grits, a po' boy, and jambalaya. The food was all okay, but service was SO SLOW. It wasn't necessarily the server's fault- she had a gigantic party and multiple tables with very little support. Not sure exactly what was going on, staff wise. We were starving and didn't receive any bread until our entrees came out (not that bread will make or break your experience, we were just hangry) and our drinks were slow to be refilled. We had to ask for utensils and napkins, but again that's just a nuisance, not a deal breaker! We ordered dessert- the banana bread pudding and the chocolate bread pudding. The banana bread pudding was great, but the chocolate bread pudding was just okay- the vanilla ice cream was the highlight of the dish (interpret that however you'd like).
This is an okay interpretation of NOLA-style cuisine outside of NOLA itself, but I've definitely had better. Maybe I'm just a snob because I've been wined and dined in NOLA, I don't know!
