Visited Feeney's for the first time last night. My first thought was that the inside is much more interesting than the outside. The outside in a fairly nondescript building on 12th St. The inside is more of a retro-throwback to an old school steak house.
We started with escargot and potato skins (the skins were a freebie via Yelp check-in). Both were good, but neither was great. For dinner, my wife had Pork Osso Bucco and I had the Beef Wellington with a Twice Baked Potato. The Osso Bucco was very big portion of shank served on top of mashed potatoes. It was well prepared and tasty. The Beef Wellington was very good as well. A petite filet wrapped in pastry dough and covered with mushroom sauce. Twice baked potato was good as well (quite large actually..)
Overall, our experience was good. The one negative, perhaps a pet peeve of mine, was walking by the outdoor patio to enter and patio is full up with people smoking. I would prefer not to walk through a wall of smoke to enter.
N*joy...
