First of all: I am stingy with the 5 star ratings and have to be REALLY blown away (no pun intended) to issue 5 stars.
I had never heard of this salon, but one of my long time friends started working there. I have an awesome stylist in San Diego and I am very particular about who I let touch my mane.
I was in desperate need of a haircut and it just so happened that Homa was going to be in town for the weekend working. I immediately set up an appointment.
I am not very familiar with the Downtown area, so it did take me a little searching to find this place. It is a bit confusing that there is not a lot of signage on the building - I ended up around back the first time around, then discovered that the large lot in front of the building was the perfect spot.
The salon itself is very cute and chic. It has simple decor, and local artists' work is featured on the walls.
Homa did a great job on my hair - I really just needed a trim. She is definitely a perfectionist and will take time to ensure you are 100% happy with your cut or color. I have thick, curly hair and a visit to the salon is just about the only time I get to wear my hair straight. Most stylists actually get tired of blow drying and rely primarily on the flat iron for me. However, Homa was very patient and ensured my hair was totally dry and then styled it with a big curling iron. I left there feeling awesome and felt as if I had the hair that every girl dreams of (actually Homa told me that I have the hair every girl dreams of, but I don't want to brag. LOL).
The prices are reasonable (although I did think the products seemed a bit on the high side - I didn't purchase any), however I would assume that the cost may vary depending on which stylist you see.
