  • It is not often that I rate hospitals but clearly St Clair Hospital is the best I've ever been to. I once used their emergency room service and have come here for routine or diagnostic tests. My last visit was an MRI of one of my toes which has been giving me problems. Normally I get scared when it comes to IV needles when this test is performed with contrast but the IV team did a great job. I was expecting horrible bruising like my recent blood draw at Quest but there is nothing but a small red mark. The staff calmed my fears and advised me of everything that would happen with the MRI. I was even given a squeeze ball in case I needed them to stop the exam at any point. Believe me MRIs are no fun because you have to lie still for a good 45 minutes to an hour. But I persevered and hung on and it was completed. Upon request I asked for a cd to take to the prescribing physician so that he would have a copy to discuss the results. St Clair Hospital and outpatient treatment center take practically all insurances but it is best to check with the hospital before having anything done. I cannot rate the inpatient department since I have never been a patient there but I'm sure I won't be disappointed with their services. They do not validate parking for procedures but the maximum you would pay is only $5.00. They also have off campus sites nearby where you can have some of these tests done as long as they don't need to call the IV team. I'm one with "hidden veins" so it is usually a problem to find a descent one. Located in Mt Lebanon close to Scott Township I have been very pleased with all they have to offer.
