March 2009:
The good first... my room in A building was very big and very clean and well-appointed. The busmen were helpful. The concierge printed out my boarding pass.
Not so good: The lobby is nice but noisy. The coffee shop serves really mediocre food. The coffee / pizza place is okay but everything is served in styrofoam, in a to-go box even if you eat in at the little tables. I didn't try the other restaurants. The hallways smell like lavatory cleaner. The casino seems really tacky but maybe that is Vegas...
BAD: The first night I slept there was fine. The second night, I got woken up at 3 am by a loud banging on my door (I thought). Very alarmed, I jumped out of bed and looked thru the peephole. Nothing. I wrote it off and went back to sleep...for 45 minutes until it happened again. This time the banging lasted longer and was more regular and mechanical. I heard some faint sounds of water running and figured it was the pipes banging. Thinking that was it, I went back to sleep.. to be awoken again off and on until 5:30 when I gave up on sleeping.
I reported it to the manager and they said I should have called during the night and they had never heard of this happening. I explained my banging pipe theory but they didn't seem interested...and wouldn't give me any discount for my sleepless night. In fact, the manager printed out the full-price receipt and handed it to me. No apology even.
I won't go there ever again!
