Friday night and looking forward to seeking out new food. See this food truck, think it looks interesting and approach it. The menu was on an 8x8 inch chalkboard with three items that look like dessert. But I don't buy it and go to the window which is closed. I wave at the woman inside and she throws up her hands in the air like "what the hell do you want". Unnerved and still curious I ask if they have meals or just desserts. She is rude about it but I find out that they serve meals too. However, they are closed until her son shows up. (By the way all food trucks or open at this time with lines).
I give her the benefit of the doubt and wait 15 mins until they put out their bigger menu. The new menu has 4 meals, none of which look like dumplings. So, unknowingly I ask what the first item was and if it came with a side. I'm told by the son (who is an adult) "I don't know how to describe it and the side isn't much". Wow! The mom finally turns around and briefly describes the meal. It's not dumplings so I ask if they have any. I'm told "we don't have any because we don't want to turn the steam oven on because it is too hot outside". (Note the truck is called Bang Bang Dumplings). I leave without ordering.
I get that it is too hot outside but then why show up to serve food if you aren't going to serve the main draw. Plus, I don't think the chefs in the other trucks were turning people away because of the heat. What's that saying, if you can't take the heat, get out of the food truck kitchen.
Poor business practice, poor attitudes, poor customer service and I didn't get a chance to try the food.
