  • After going through almost a year of absolute hell due to OneGuard's negligence, manipulation, lying, and pure corruption.....we are spending more money than we would have without a Home Warranty through OneGuard. In short, here is what happened: Our A/C stops working so we call OneGuard, who sends out service man. Service man inspects unit & communicates to OneGuard the issue. OneGuard then tells him what he needs to do to fix it. IMPORTANT*** OneGuard gives the repair man explicit instructions on exactly how it is to be repaired. The repair man must fix it this way or they will not get paid by OneGuard.***** The repair man fixes the hvac unit but in the process, completely rewires the unit, negating all wiring and function of the heat pump on our HVAC. Our repair man was instructed again "explicitly" to complete the job this way by OneGuard. We verified this with the repair company after the Registrar of Contractors opened up a case inspecting this. When November rolls around and we try to use the heat for the first time, we of course, find it doesn't work....doesn't turn on...nothing. We call OneGuard, who send out another technician from a different company, who tell us it's not repairable and that the whole unit must be replaced. We were puzzled. OneGuard then calls us and states that they will not cover the HVAC unit because the problem was caused before we moved into the house. We show them the documented inspection report with the full and complete testing of the home inspection clearly stating it was completely functional when we purchased the home. OneGuard proceeded to call us liars and that's when we reported them to the ROC and well as Dept. of Insurance & BBB. To make things short, we did find out the truth - that they are completely corrupt and will lie and manipulate their customers however they can to save a dollar. The Registrar of Contractors informed us that OneGuard Home Warranties has been caught doing this dozens upon dozens of times. They get away with it because they say they do not have any control over how their contractors make the repair. They are in complete control and communication on every precise repair done. The contractor that was interviewed by the ROC said that OneGuard states the exact repair instructions to every contractor and that these instructions must be followed exactly for them to receive compensation, no matter if it is destroying the home owners stuff or not. DO YOURSELF THE BIGGEST FAVOR OF YOUR LIFE & AVOID ONEGUARD AT ALL COST.
