| - Super snazzy apartment complex, but a wee bit pricey (then again, what else can you expect living in North Scottsdale?). The staff was thoughtful, friendly and attentive to resident needs. The complex itself was located in a great location and walking to AJ's grocery store was extremely convenient. We also frequented the dry cleaners, barre studio, and vet in that plaza.
The backdrop was wild--I loved walking our puppies on the gorgeous trails behind the complex...until one morning around 5:30am the pups and I found ourselves being encroached on by a pack of at least nine javelinas. MOST TERRIFYING MOMENT OF MY LIFE. NOT EXAGGERATING. The started circling us from every angle...the pups are both under 10lbs, so we really stood no choice. I tried to brace myself ready to kick one of them, while clutching my pups close to me, but they were getting closer from every direction. I started screaming bloody murder (trying to affect a warrior battle cry that might alarm the beasts, but I'm sure it just came across like a silly girl in a horror film)...
THANKFULLY, a man ran over to us and started charging at them. They didn't back down..but the man had distracted them momentarily and we were able to silently back away. Once we were 10 yards away from the pack, we sprinted back to the complex as fast as we could ...I don't know what happened to the man, but fingers crossed he made it out alive too...
We didn't take them on walks on the trails after that, but thankfully Camden has a nice little dog park that the pups could play at. There's a little washing station, plenty of poop bags, and places to sit. Camden even celebrates its fury residents on certain days and gives them goodie bags with treats.
One drawback was that the floors/ceilings aren't super soundproof. The first lady who lived underneath us got super upset whenever we would walk around...when we would WALK around. She'd often bang her broom on her ceiling and complain to the leasing office about us--the office was super nice about it though and had to remind her that noise is normal in such a complex and that we were most certainly allowed to walk around in the apartment. Then she moved out and some young girls moved it. They liked to blast their music, but we didn't make a fuss, knowing that the walls weren't too soundproof.
Overall, we were super pleased with our experience there (despite the lack of elevators and ferocious wild animals neighbors). Thanks for a great 18 months, Camden!
