  • Damn, I really wanted to love this place. I had heard good things about EVO and talked a few friends into going last night. Let me start out by saying that everything tasted really good. They know their flavors. That being said, many other things were (really) not up to standard. Starting with our reservation. When I made it, they asked if we wanted a table or booth so I requested a booth. When we arrived we were told that it would be at least 45 minutes for our booth because they had JUST received their appetizers. The booth not being THAT important we opted for a table. Drinks were OK not memorable and a bit on the pricey side $11-$14/each for what they were. Apps were hit and miss. Meatballs, while very tasty were overcooked and room temperature. Calamari was great but be prepared it is pretty spicy. Bone marrow was also tasty but miniscule in its portion and pricey. The entrees were also hit and miss. The Pork Chop was just fine albeit a little bland but the accompanying mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts were both cold. Two orders of Chili Shrimp came with absolutely the starchiest pasta ever served. Again, very flavorful but definitely not as it should be. Squid ink pasta was good although it had to be served much later as the initial order was not the correct entrĂ©e. Our server (I think that her name was Taylor) was very helpful but the kitchen seemed to take forever getting the food out (and about half of it was served cold). We were there for 3 hours. I would definitely try it again, as it has a lot of potential, but I think that I would be a little more particular with what I was being served next time.
