I had the same situation happen to me as a few of the reviewers explained below. If I could give 0 stars I would. I planned a awesome trip to AZ to visit family and take my mother dyeing of cancer to the Grand Canyon. I have rented a car from Hertz several times and have been very satisfied. This time I was extremely unsatisfied. The represented at Sky Harbor Hertz was nice and asked what are plans were I explained them; going to the Grand Canyon and driving through Sedona and Flagstaff. She said that the original reserved standard vehicle about $250 would not get us to my destination. She explained the need for 4 wheel drive, she said it need to be lifted because of all the snow. With my mother sick the thing I wanted is to be on our way and get stuck in the snow. My mom said they are trying to get over on us and a standard car would get us there fine. The representative was certain of the snow and explained the need for a bigger more powerful vehicle. We ended up with a 4-wheel drive totaling to $642.39. She lied to us because when we got there was NO SNOW. The only snow was on top of a mountain from a distance. No snow no ice nothing on the roads. I called the Hertz in flagstaff to see if I can return the car and get a standard car as the car I had was not needed. They said I would be able to but wouldn't be able to get a refund for the difference because I reserved it from a different store. When I returned the car to Phoenix I let them know I was disappointed I was lied to and they said I should have listened to my mom and not reserved the car recommended.
