I was a customer here once and once only, I was recommended to try out this salon at the advice of a colleague. I went in for a slightly darker balyage version of the color I already had. I was very happy with both the color results and with the way my hair was styled. My stylist was very adept with creating flat iron waves which is a look I love and can never seem to recreate on myself.
So why then 2 stars?
I wasn't greeted when I walked in and was left standing uncomfortably with no idea where to go to check in or where to hang my jacket. I don't think that receiving a simple hello and a bit of direction upon walking into a hair salon are unrealistic expectations yet I received none of the above. Two ladies were hanging around behind what I gathered to be the reception desk and finally one who turned out to be my stylist sauntered over to me. My stylist was quite frankly curt, borderline rude and seemed very bored. During my consult she made a somewhat snide remark about me having 'quite a lot of grey hair'. The fact that I have grey hair is a big part of what is motivating me to go to a salon and have my hair colored as I'm sure is the case for many salon clients with grey hair. I'm not sure exactly what my stylist was trying to accomplish with a remark like that. She did my color treatment in complete silence with a big scowl on her face not checking in on me once. She then left me for quite some time at the sink with a head full of shampoo suds. I honestly felt like I was being labelled a waste of her time.
I did notice that the stylist who was working at the chair next to where I was seated was very warm and friendly with her client so that shows some Proudest Pony employees actually care about customer service. Too bad I couldn't have been booked with one.
Upon leaving I received not even a thank you even though I tipped well on a $250 bill. Bottom line here is that I won't be back. Even though my results were beautiful I won't pay high prices to be treated with snobbery.
