This place has quietly earned a solid reputation as a bar-restaurant which attempts to fulfill all patrons' needs. While the competition among the restaurants on the other side of State St. has resulted in something of an escalating price war, this place seems to hold it's value. The wide array of Capital beer choices are paired with a menu which includes a variety of the "usual suspects" including sandwiches, salads and entrees. While it's compact size may be a little claustrophobic for some, the staff are generally helpful and engaging. The few times I have been in, I chose to sit at the bar and received prompt service.
