  • I used to climb here ten years ago when I was in high school and loved it. Red Rock Climbing Center (R2C2) is the place that sparked my interest in climbing and taught me how fun it could be. I've been climbing on and off ever since and I've been a member to and visited several gyms, and I always remember back to this one and have a special place for it in my heart. So I finally visited here recently, and not much has changed. It still looks and feels the same. It hasn't expanded at all, but R2C2 utilizes the space so well including a unique cave climb to the second floor. R2C2 is also the only gym I've ever seen with an actual roof climb further utilizing the space completely (I've seen lead climbs with overhangs/cave but not an actual flat roof). To be honest, my current gym (living in DC) is much bigger, newer, and nicer but there are still parts of this gym that I miss and wish could be integrated into my current one (e.g., bouldering line, cave to the second floor, full gym traverse). Is this a 5star gym? Maybe not but it's reasonably priced, well laid out, and Vegas doesn't have a whole lot more to offer for indoor climbing. If I ever move back home, I will be a member again and be happy to be apart of this family.
