  • Once upon a time, I used to go to this local store and be greeted with excellent customer service.... I've been a loyal customer for more than 20 years. I started going to this store when my sons were young. They loved to join me and play at the Brio train table. Over the years, my visits have become infrequent since my kids are now grown. I continue to stop in when I have gifts to by for family and friends. Management changed many years ago, and the attention to service and detail has diminished. They continue to offer excellent quality toys, but after my experience today, I don't think I will be back. In the past, customers were always greeted and asked if any help was needed. As I entered the store yesterday just past noon, one customer was being helped by an employee. They chatted the entire 20 min. I was there wandering trying to find the perfect toy for a baby. Based on the conversation overheard between the employee and the other customer, they appeared to be friends. I was the only other person in the store. Never once was I welcomed into this small shop or even asked if I needed help. I placed the item I intended to purchase back on the shelf and walked out the door.
