| - THERE ARE PLENTY OF BETTER ESCAPE ROOMS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - THE WORST I'VE EVER SEEN. I did the Abandoned room with 4 other people. The room and puzzles were challenging and fun. However, the reason why I'm writing a poor review is because the customer service was TERRIBLE - the worst I've ever experienced. Here's a brief summary of my experience: 1) the worker was extremely rude; 2) the worker outright LIED TO US to try to convince us to do another room so that she could go home earlier; 3) she put no effort into giving us a single helpful hint and walked into the room saying literally only "oh, you're right." and walking out of the room even before we explained what we needed help with.
Now here's a detailed account of what happened for those interested:
1) When I called to book the abandoned room, the receptionist tried to talk me out of the booking because we only had 5 people when the recommended # was 6 people. When I told her we'd still like to give it a shot if possible, she proceeded to book us in but with an extremely rude tone, didn't even take my name or number, and just hung up after saying "okay".
2) When we got there 20mins before our scheduled time, which was 11pm, the same girl I spoke to on the phone proceeded to LIE TO US that their business closes at 11:30pm. She then concluded that we can't do the abandoned room because there was a group ahead of us that would finish at 10:50pm, which didn't make any sense because we arrived well in advance of our scheduled time. She said if we wanted, we could do one of the other rooms instead. On Facebook and their website, they state VERY CLEARLY that their business hours on Saturdays are from 12pm to 12am. Further, if they closed at 11:30pm, WHY WOULD THEY EVEN HAVE AN OPENING TO BOOK A ROOM AT 11PM WHEN EACH ROOM TAKES 45MINS????? When I brought this to the girl's attention, she proceeded to change her story and told me that it was RECOMMENDED that we do another room instead since we can start right away, but that it's up to us. When I told her we really wanted to do the abandoned room and that was the reason why we waited until 11pm, she continued to try to convince us to do the another room. I have no idea what she would gain by having us do another room, except that maybe she wanted to go home earlier that 12am. I've NEVER experienced a representative EVER lie about their hours of operation until tonight.
3) She put no effort into giving us a helpful hint. We were allowed 2 hints. Both times, the worker did not give us any proper hints. BOTH TIMES, when she came into the room, all she said was "Oh, you're right." and just walked out. Yes, of course we're right. That's why we did what we did. But, you were supposed to give us a hint as to how to get to the next answer.
In summary, I don't know about everyone else, but I put a lot of emphasis on customer service. I would never pay $25 for this type of service, no matter how good the rooms may be. There are MANY other escape rooms that offer great experiences both with respect to the rooms and customer service. So, please save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.
