So I was going to give at least 4 stars for the Service department. I would like to give 4 to 5 stars to the service department. The service department is great, professional and courteous. But then I had an experience in the service waiting lounge.
I walk in and sit. The news is on and there are 3 people in the lounge. Later I realize two of the three are sales people. On the news (I just caught the end of a show or segment) they're talking about being openly gay. The female salesperson asks the male salesperson "What's wrong?" He very promptly responds, "I'm gonna throw up." "Why?" She asks. Again he very promptly responds, "Why do we have to listen to this s***t on the news?" She kind of laugh and then walks out. A minute or so later he leaves.
I've worked in few dealerships. Parts, service and sales. I could care less about his view on the gay lifestyle or any subject for that matter. But to verbalize this in a room with customers is so unprofessional. A huge mistake for a salesman. I now know my next Jeep will not be from him. He is apparently not aware that gay men and women do drive Jeeps. They hike, surf, camp, mountain climb and bike. My wife and I have many gay friends that drive Jeeps.
This of course doesn't effect my opinion about Chapman Jeep. Or their service department. But I hope they see this and talk to their sales staff. Sales people don't have a great reputation to begin with.
