| - I am almost 40 years old. I have walked in many shops in the last 20 years to get some ink work done, but never did. I never had the right feeling. Whenever I got talking to an artist they would always try to change my view of what I wanted. My wife did a bunch of research before we left for Vegas. She had it narrowed down to two shops. As we walked down Fremont I was getting irritated that she was dragging me a few blocks away from any casino's and action. As we walked and you start to see the art work that is really coming alive in that area -meerkat bus- container park. It was so cool. When we get to the shop, it was like going back in time. I can't describe the feeling I got walking into this nostalgic time capsule shop. It was one of the best experiences I had. As we waited a few short minutes (as we enjoyed the little details of this awesome shop). We were greeted with a big smile and a very inviting "what's up" from artist Buddy. At this point I was like, this is it. This is the place I have been waiting for. I was so proud of my wife for finding this amazing place. So we both told Buddy what we wanted. He drew up my wife's first. It was amazing. She already had a little ink done before, she can't believe how this one turned out. The way Buddy drew my kids name is amazing. My wife and I are still in awe over it. Next Buddy designed mine. It turned out so sick. I took a pic and posted it. People haven't stop freaking out. The lines are so straight and clean. When I got home and my cousin (who has a lot of ink done) saw it, he wants to make a special trip just to get a tat at Downtown Tattoo. Crazy thing is we walked in at 1pm and was out on the street by 3. Can't believe what a deal we got either. It truely was the most nostalgic experience we had on our Vegas trip. If you want to stay up by the strip and get a fake ass tat by one of those fake ass strip shops go ahead. If you want a tat by some cool ass down to earth people, that just enjoy what they do, hanging out, putting down ink, and painting. In a location that will steal your soul for a moment and put you in a time capsule. From the tiled floor, model trains, air planes, paintings covering the walls from head to toe. Even the artist tool boxes are detail with some of the art that completes this place. Then this is the shop. I am still in awe. Can't wait to put my window stickers on my 63 Impala and sport my Downtown tat shirt as I cruz. Even the design of those are so nostalgic. I will be posting some pics. Just want to say a big thank you to Buddy and the shop. That was the coolist part of being in Vegas.
