  • Been here a couple of times since we moved here, and the best I can say is that it's inconsistent. Some times the food is really excellent and what you expect, and sometimes it's totally wrong and not good. For example, I got a katsudon here twice. One time it was done correctly: nice tonkatsu sliced up with an egg on it, sauteed onions underneath, a bit of sauce and nice white rice. Second time no egg, tonkatsu was sparse, way too many onions, and the rice was just drowning in the sauce. The first time it was awesome, which is why I ordered it again. Second time, no thanks. Seems like everything has been like this, even the sushi. Also, the service is really slow. I don't know if they've been understaffed or what but it took forever to order drinks, then order food, then get the food... last time I was starving and this pissed me off. Anyway this place is decent, but as far as sushi places we've tried out here it doesn't hold a candle to Shimogamo.
