rev:text	Visited Phoenix for Spring Break and was excited to see that they had a mountain so close to the city! There are two main trails: Cholla Trail and Echo Canyon Trail, but I'm not much of a rock climber so my boyfriend and I decided to do only the Cholla Trail. We visited the mountain around 9AM and it was already insanely crowded, but we managed to park on the street. The earlier you hike, the easier it'll be to find a parking spot. Then it was a half mile hike to the trailhead, and once we saw the mountain it was easy to understand why it's hard to find parking. There were soooo many people hiking the mountain. It was pretty incredible to see. It's understandable though cause in March, the weather in Phoenix was surprisingly pleasant. The elevation is 2707ft over 1.4 miles, so it did take a while to reach the summit. My boyfriend and I took around an hour to reach the summit since the trail does get technical near the end with all the rocks. We chose to not do the Echo Canyon trail, so we went back down the Cholla trail and that took around 45min. It was fun climbing over all the rocks, but make sure you have the proper shoes because there's a lot of loose gravel and sand. Once you reach the top, you can see great views of Phoenix and Scottsdale! We also brought 2 water bottles each, but that was only cause the weather was decent. If it was hotter, I'd imagine that more water would be necessary despite the short distance. There are also no bathrooms or water fountains available, so plan accordingly. If you're in the Phoenix area, I'd definitely recommend this hike!
