I feel very grateful and lucky that I found Underground Fitness about 6 months after having surgery for a herniated disc. I've been an athlete my entire life and having a serious injury really took a toll on me emotionally (and obviously physically!). Playing tennis and cycling are my go-to stress relievers and being sore and stiff all of the time during the recovery process was really hard. I took a chance by going to a gym, but wanted a personal trainer to help me get back to my "old self." I ended up working with Scott, who is the owner, and he's been fantastic. His knowledge is extensive -- he is very careful and very patient. I am now nearly 10-months post-op and now feel 100% better. I think core training and doing some exercise has really been a life-saver. I'm slowly starting to play tennis again and take short rides on my road bike. Going to Underground Fitness has helped me in so many ways -- both in gaining the confidence to return to playing a competitive sport and also to learn new ways to strengthen my body so that I don't get hurt again in the future! I'd highly recommend Scott, but after observing most of the trainers working at the 7th St. location, I think they're all pretty awesome.
