After driving past the insanely gigantic Woodman's in Sun Prairie a few times, I finally ventured in on Memorial Day. There were tons of people, but the upside of having such a large store is that it didn't feel particularly cramped anywhere.
When I walked in, I was surprised to find that they chose to decorate the new store in the same sad, wood-paneled motif that haunts their older stores. It makes sense to keep a consistent brand, but I think it was a missed opportunity to modernize a bit. It was at least clean and bright, which is an improvement on some of the other locations.
Like other Woodman's Markets, prices are low, there is a ton of variety, and there are a million checkout lines for your convenience. Our checker was really friendly and we got through the line quickly despite there being a few people ahead of us.
If you're looking for value and want a wide selection of goods or have some specialty items in mind, Woodman's is a good bet.
