I feel bad writing this because at the point in our delayed journey when we arrived at the Quality Inn we were just happy to have a bed and somewhere to sleep, but I honestly think I would rather just taken a nap in a rocking chair at the airport.
Our non-smoking room smelled like it had previously been used exclusively to host chain smokers anonymous meetings, the shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned in this decade, and I know that the air conditioner was straight up lying to me about the temperature. Me and my traveling companion both ended up spending the majority of our 3 hour stay having a scratching contest, one that I'm worried neither of us will win, and could last for several weeks past our stay.
The girl at the front desk was nice and the shuttle service was relatively painless, but between the itching and the sirens (it sounded like they were filming a homicide show down the street) I can't say that I awoke well rested or in any better state than when I arrived.
Next time I hope American Airlines just cuts me a check and tells me to pull up a rocking chair.
