Not that I go to a lot of cemeteries (I would say maybe 20 in my life so far), but this is the most beautiful cemetery I've been in. I've spent a lot of time in this particular one because it's the best place to go running in the East Side during the winter. (You know, when the sidewalks are icy, Frick park is an icy/slushy mess, and you're forced to play chicken with cars on the street). I know people might think running in the cemetery is disrespectful, but I've talked with one of the directors of the cemetery and they encourage it! (Probably keeps the place safer if you have more [living] people around). It's a beautiful and serene place; perfect for contemplative walks or runs. Few cars to contend with. They do a fantastic job maintaining this cemetery. They also give tours if you want to learn more about the people in the cemetery. i went on one of the tours last fall and it was excellent. The trees inside are amazing too and I know they recently became an arboretum. You can pick up their tree map in the main office.
