  • We were seeing Michael Jackson One and wanted to grab a drink before the show. This is located in the Delano tower and you have to access it by an elevator behind a reception desk that has Skyfall written over it. The woman behind the desk let us head up. My husband was not a fan of the all glass elevator but if you are ok with that kind of thing the views are spectacular. When we got to the top a hostess walked up and in a fairly snotty way asked if we had reservations. I had heard there was a restaurant as well as the Skyfall lounge on that floor so I thought she meant to the restaurant. When I said we were trying to get a drink at Skyfall, she answered that we were in Skyfall like I was an idiot. I then repeated we just wanted a drink at the bar before the show. With a huff, she said we could go in but we couldn't sit anywhere that said reserved. I'm so glad I had that very difficult to grasp concept explained to me. And if there was a problem with us drinking there maybe that should be relayed at the reception desk before the elevator. There is also the fact we didn't want a table, we just wanted to sit at the bar. What restaurant, club, or lounge has reserved bar seating? Unless the whole place is rented out, the bar is open to anyone and everyone. When we walked in, because it was only 5:30 PM, there was no one at the bar and only a handful of tables with reserved labeled on them. Glad I got the third degree for nothing. We sat at the bar and were helped immediately. The selling point of this place is the pristine view of the strip which I'm sure is even better at night. I also was excited to see the cocktail menu had so many drinks with champagne in them which are usually my go to. We enjoyed our drinks but after our initial experience we felt a general sense of unwelcome as if we were second class citizens who were being given the gift of getting to buy overpriced cocktails in a half full bar with a snotty hostess. Sorry Skyfall; I liked your James Bondish name but I think we're done.
