  • My mom and I ate at Hawthornes for lunch today. WOW! She had the turkey club with side salad and commented it was the best she'd ever eaten. I had the marinated chicken breast sandwich with side salad. Unbelievable flavor for a salad, so crisp and delicious. Bread seemed to be homemade - absolutely out of this world. We got the beer battered onions rings as an appetizer. As a native Charlottean, I didn't think it was possible for anyone to beat South 21 onion rings. Hawthornes may have done it! Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't comment on the incredible staff. EVERYONE was so nice and pleasant. Rare to find in today's world.
