  • We were flying in to PHX on an early AM flight with an AM tee time. This was a good choice. Starting in the 1950s these original Motor Courts were designed to be spread out because desert land was abundant and inexpensive. Horizontal not vertical was in style. This old property has been nicely refurbished. Our check in with Keith at the front desk was impressive. Keith has been around almost as long as I have and is a US Army veteran. He allowed us to do an early check in due to our status with Choice hotels. They normally charge a premium. They have an airport shuttle that showed up quickly and a driver who was a great help with all our large bags. The rooms are good size with a king bed but dinky pillows. The usual 2 towels were adequate. A second story room would be advisable unless you have lots of luggage. There's no sound proofing from noisy folks above. The AC works but is irritating with the constant recycling. The free breakfast is a contender for the least food ever. A bagel, cream cheese and instant oatmeal was about it. You get what you pay for.
