Instanbul Sofra offers generous portions of delicious Mediterranean food at a reasonable price. Our service was excellent and, while the atmosphere of the restaurant wasn't anything amazing, we were comfortable.
We sampled the hummus and pita as an appetizer - very tasty! The menu offers a lot of options and though I can't entirely speak for their authenticity, it seemed like a lot of the menu items were traditional rather than some kind of fusion-y version. I had the iskender kebab - the combination of the acidic tomato sauce and mild yogurt was excellent on this dish. We actually saved room for dessert as well - the revani was delightful and my wife really enjoyed the kunefe which is a less sweet/more savory dessert. I can't say anything negative about the quality or taste of the food.
The only negative I can think of is the parking situation. I don't mind street parking, but there is a church lot directly across from the restaurant which seems to go unused during evenings. It's a shame the church and restaurant can't make an agreement considering how busy Istanbul Sofra can get. Parking is worth the minor hassle for this delicious food though! We will definitely be back!
