| - I'm not sure what to make of CRAVE after a couple visits. The food is okay, but not great. The restaurant itself seems torn between wanting to be a place anyone would like to come for a bite, and a fancy place for those special nights out. Everything about the place seems to try and straddle that fence.
So that it's not lost in the review, the restaurant is very clean and the employees are awesome! It's a fairly quiet place too, making it nice for holding a conversation over a meal.
The decor reflects my observation about the confusion with what this place wants to be: a pub or wine bar, a restaurant, or a fine dining establishment. There's nothing bad about any of it, but there's nothing that seems to really define what this restaurant's all about. In the end it seems management is trying to appeal to everyone (leaning toward the fancy side), instead of standing out a little and making it clear why this is the place you want to come to for a certain kind of afternoon or evening. This problem stands out even more given the number of restaurants in the immediate area that give you no doubt about what kind of place they are and why you'd want to go there. The prices are a mix of average and high for what's served. In the end, not bad but not great.
With an awesome location on the northern side of Downtown Summerlin, it's worth a visit if you're shopping around lunch or dinnertime, find yourself hungry and just don't have anything else specific in mind.
