  • Pros: Excellent range, range gun rentals available for both handgun and long gun. Fair pricing for an indoor range daily use per hour or annual range membership. Retail wise they have a good selection of guns and accessories. Place is always clean and nicely merchandised. Plenty of parking. Open 7 days. Gunsmith on premises but expensive and long turnaround times. Fun place to browse, lots of really kewl stuff. Cons: Staff pretty much sucks. Almost every time I go in there they are cold and unfriendly. Yes, they give you a big greeting when you come in but that's as far as it goes. I will say there are a couple of nice and helpful salespeople but you have to be lucky to get one if you don't know who to look for. Prices are all pretty much close to or at MSRP and when you say something about "working with you to make a sale" they get all bent out of shape. They will buy or trade used guns but offer less than half of what you can sell them yourself for on Gunbroker. FFL fees are $40 for non members, $20 for members. I, personally, have bought 5 firearms in the past 4 months and have shopped them at other stores locally. Scottsdale Gun Club was always over $100 higher than I could buy elsewhere and sometimes as much as more than $200. If you like to brag to your friends how much your guns cost, this is the place to buy. Another place I would recommend over SGC is Bear Arms located 10 minutes away on Shea & Scottsdale Rd (in shopping center on SE corner). They have an incredible inventory (more than SGC) and the staff is sincerely friendly and helpful. Watch for the opening of C2 Tactical at Scottsdale Rd and the 101. They will offer an indoor range in addition to their retail store. If they are anything like their other store, they will be the new go place for indoor shooting.
